L'alchimista
About This Spot
Down a quiet corner of Via Camillo Tonazzi, there's a spot that feels like a well-kept secret shared among those who appreciate pizza beyond the usual. L'alchimista welcomes you with a warm, bustling energy that softens the edges of a busy day and invites you to slow down just enough to savor the moment. The cozy, yet lively atmosphere hums with the sounds of conversation and laughter, reminding you why dining is about more than food—it’s about connection.
Inside, the room is intimate, decked with touches that suggest a thoughtful care for creating a space where everyone feels at ease. Despite its popularity and the steady flow of guests, there’s an unhurried rhythm to the evening—a balance between the lively spirit of a favorite neighborhood gathering place and the quiet satisfaction of good company and great pizza.
What makes the experience here stand out is the genuine devotion to craft found in every bite. The pizza dough boasts a texture that is both tender and crisp, carrying a subtle saltiness that enhances the rich, carefully chosen toppings. Whether you find yourself drawn to the creamy, earthy notes of truffle paired with pistachio or the satisfying depth of cheese-laden creations that feel familiar yet distinct, each pie tells a story of thoughtful regional ingredients and playful culinary chemistry.
The service flows naturally around the evening, warm and attentive without ever rushing the pace. It’s the kind of place where staff quietly guide you through choices, happy to share a bit of insight when asked and quick to help even as the space fills up. Be mindful that popularity means tables often fill quickly, so a reservation reflects both respect and an unspoken understanding of the shared joy these pizzas offer.
And when it’s time to pause for something cool and refreshing, the selection of local craft beers and house-made gelato provide a perfect quiet counterpoint—small indulgences that sing gently alongside the robust flavors of the pizza.
L'alchimista is more than just a pizzeria tucked away from the main streets of Verbania. It’s a place that captures the essence of communal dining with a twist of culinary curiosity, rewarding those who take the time to discover its unique pulse and flavor.

Tucked away in a side street, but we'll worth visiting. Extensive choice of pizza, very good quality and reasonably priced. Highly recommended to make a reservation, otherwise you'll be disappointed.

Simply delicious pizza with great quality ingredients and nice variety. The price is decent too and the staff was quick, even in a full restaurant. Would recommend the bottled craft beer to accompany the pizza. Reservation is recommended.

We were admitted even though we didn’t reserve, and just before realizing all tables around us were already booked. Pizzas are very good, the dough is salty tender snd also crunchy on the sides. The pizza is very rich in cheese. I was a little disappointed by the Tiramisu, I was looking for the biscuit part, the cream was tasty though. The place is nicely decorated and cosy. I recommend having a pizza here.

We love this place. It’s always packed for good reason but if you come late enough, you can catch them at 9 when things have settled. As long as the pizza chef is still happy and running, they’ll serve you pizza before closing. Servers are sweet too, they speak English well so you can ask a few questions about the menu if you’re unsure. We also really like their tiramisu, really creamy

A truly magnificent pizza, with quality ingredients rarely found in toppings. For me, the best pizza I ever had. You need to book in advance, it tends to get busy. The acoustics are not ideal, but service is swift and friendly.

I was in Intra at this pizzeria because a good friend of mine recommended it to me. This place is a childhood friend growing up. I thought how most folks always over exaggerated but this was not what happened here. If you get a chance definitely go.

Great pizza, good service and decent prices. The only disadvantage for me was the fact there's no wine by the glass (only available by bottles). Very recommended.
